This Midcentury Mahogany Campaign Chair dates back to the 1960s from Amsterdam. Campaign furniture goes back to the military operations of Julius Caesar, but is also associated with British Army Officers in the 19th and 20th century. Officers needed furniture that was comfortable, easy to transport, but also grandiose to showcase their empire’s opulence and influence. Furniture makers in the 20th century, such as Kaare Klint, took inspiration from the campaign chair and designed a similar successor: the safari chair. From safari excursions and living room habitation to military campaigns and glamping, this chair has been through every adventure!
